John Colt has done it all. He's been a sheriff a Texas Ranger and even a US Marshal. And all he learned in all of those successful careers is that he worked himself to death, faced down and killed many outlaws who needed killing, and for what? A mere pittance. It is not enough.
He pulls out, after a bad injury where he nearly lost his life. Cared for by a lovely nurse, he finds he has a part of himself that somehow will struggle to change him. A strong, determined, stubborn man, he cannot be controlled by a woman with a strong streak of right from wrong, and he must move on. Those two were the wrong two.
He meets a soulmate bounty hunter who can do everything he can do, maybe better, and it will change his life. They grow rich while she is right beside him, every step.
Plenty of close calls, deadly shootouts and vicious outlaws haunt their budding attraction. And yes, in every story, there should be a happy ending, if not a soft landing. Maybe these two?
