A recurrent, unidentifiable noise in her apartment. A memo to her boss that's replaced by obscene insults. Amanda - a successful architect in a happy marriage - finds her life going off kilter by degrees. She starts smoking again, and one night for no reason, without even the knowledge that she's doing it, she burns her husband with a cigarette. At night she dreams of a beautiful woman with pointed teeth on the shore of a blood-red sea.

The new voice in Amanda's head, the one that tells her to steal things and talk to strange men in bars, is strange and frightening, and Amanda struggles to wrest back control of her life. Is she possessed by a demon, or is she simply insane?

Weird but well done.

Strange but interesting. Story was well paced, but a little too long. No likeable characters.

Come Closer, by Sara Gran is a powerful story about Amanda, a young woman who may or may not be possessed. Her behavior becomes increasingly odd, as she does things beyond her control. Very creepy and haunting!

Is Nahmaa real, or is Amanda stark raving mad?

The narrator did a fine job, but I found her voice to be a little hard to take after a while. I think the ladies will enjoy this narration more than I did.

Had this recommended by a coworker. Overall I found it a quick but enjoyable listen. Got me in the mood for more suspenseful type books

haunting

I listened to this story in one sitting. I had to know what was going to happen to her. there was so much to this story that I will be thinking about for a long time. would read again.
