Confessions of a Prairie Bitch is Alison Arngrim's comic memoir of growing up as one of television's most memorable characters - the devious Nellie Oleson on the hit television show Little House on the Prairie.

With behind-the-scenes stories from the set, as well as tales from her bohemian upbringing in West Hollywood and her headline-making advocacy work on behalf of HIV awareness and abused children, Confessions of a Prairie Bitch is a must for fans of everything Little House: the classic television series and its many stars like Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert; Gilbert's best-selling memoir Prairie Tale; and, of course, the beloved series of books by Laura Ingalls Wilder that started it all.

Probably on of the most brilliant autobiographies I've ever had the privilege to listen to. I kept trying to stop listening to no avail I listened straight through. Honest without being petty or bitter. I got all the feelings while listening. I especially appreciated hearing about her relationships with her Little House family. Especially her somewhat unique relationship with Michael Landon. Highly recommend to all who loved "Little House on the Prairie", or even of you didn't still a powerful read.

Honest without being Petty; and HILARIOUS

I love Alison's narration of her life story. She is expressive and honest telling her deepest memories. Her words will help so many suffering from abuse. She is a true survivor and hero. Not many people could go on after the abuse she suffered. Not only did she move on she became a start and advocate. I grew up hating Nellie Olson, but now I love Alison she is so awesome. I would love to read more stories from her or even narrations.

Excellent Narration and Story

I’d recommend this book to anyone who grew up watching LHOTP and/or anyone who had abuse in his/her childhood. It’s sad, funny, heartbreaking, scandalous, and extremely thoughtful. I’ve heard it said to play a “dumb” character takes brains. By the same token, I think it must take a tender heart to play a b*tch. Alison is an activist, actress, comedienne and author. She’s also an amazing narrator, if you decide to buy the audiobook like I did.
