Not the best of the Foreigner series, but fun.

I've listened to all of the books in this series multiple times. I'm a big fan of the overall series and of the author's work, but like with most things like this... some are better than others.

Still, if you're interested in reading this book, chances are the series hooked you long ago! Plenty of twists and turns. Plenty of the characters we know and love. You won't be disappointed.

sequence 4, 10 books in and its still great

This is going to be a review of all 3 books in this sequence.

This story arc gets a little political but its part of the main story so you want to read them even if political stuff is something you hate.

This one takes place directly after the last sequence which is a little different than the other sequences of books, those usually had a good ending that you could just wait and read the next sequence later but this one is almost the same story a direct continuation.

The whole planet is all messed up and even the Human continent is having problems and really its up to Bren to get things fixed, he gets his own estate and everything.

I really love how this whole series of books has gone so far and although this is only a 4 star review that's because it was a little less exciting as the other sequences but its still great.

the plot thickens

This entire series is now 19 books, and the story grows and changes over 3 book story arcs. I have never been bored or disapointed with plots and circumstances. C.J. Cherryh has been one of my most favorite authors since I started reading her books in the mid 1970s.

Did you really think everything will be so easy?

Aiji-dowager and paidhi-aiji are not here to supervise for 2 years, what will happen meanwhile?

Not enough happens in the book

Maybe after the last two sequences (space trip and reversing the revolt), the local happenings around the estate just are not as exciting to me. The scale of what was happening reminded me of the first book. I am hoping that things pick up over the next two books in this sequence,
