“DROP THE KNIFE! DON’T MAKE ME SHOOT YOU!” I said loudly as I slowly increased the pressure on the trigger...

The tip of the butcher knife was less than three inches from her husband’s side...

One more warning ignored, and I was taking the shot..." –From Cop Talk: Safety, Suicide, PTSD and More.

The incidents in this audiobook are real events that happened very much as written, either to the author or one of his co-workers. The author’s intent is that anyone who has an interest in the safety and well-being of law enforcement officers (LEOs) and their relationships with their friends and families will listen to this audiobook and have a better grasp of why they behave like they do.

Dealing daily with strangers having one of the worst days of their lives takes a toll on these special individuals. Having a certain mindset can make all the difference towards them making it home in one piece at the end of the day...and emotionally surviving to do it all again tomorrow.

I hope to help develop that mindset with the information in this audiobook. If you haven’t a clue what it means to be a LEO, but simply want to get a glimpse behind the badge—if you want to share the adventure and boredom, the humor and sadness, the fear and anxiety these folks experience on any given day—then you, too, should listen to this audiobook!

We listened to this audio book on a long road trip. I was searching for a book that would appeal to both of us, and this was IT. My husband chuckled at the author's stories of his early training as they brought back memories of his own time in army basic training. We both enjoyed the author's action-packed stories of his personal experiences as a law enforcement officer, some humorous, some nail-biting.
The narration is realistic and flawless. Told with frank honesty and humility, the ending particularly touched me. You will finish this audio book with a renewed respect for those who serve.
