A gruesome murder outside a gay bar sends Detective Soto on an investigation which delves into two collaborating computer companies across both coasts.

As a determined young girl, Haile Jones goes after what she wants and she wants to marry her childhood friend Kent Halverson. But Jordan Payne, Kent’s volleyball partner, presents a problem as Kent struggles with his sexual identity.

For Haile and Kent, the investigation by Detective Soto into Austin Falconer’s violent death threatens the life they know. Several persons of interest have opportunity and possible motive, but which of them could be the killer?

The convoluted path to solve the crime leaves the listening guessing who killed Austin Falconer?

I really enjoyed listening to this book--a compelling mystery with a powerful journey of self-discovery. The main characters were exceptionally well-developed and very likable. I was fully invested in their journey and found myself rooting for them, hopeful they would get their happy ending. The story itself was captivating and easy to get lost in. The male and female narrators, each reading chapters from their character’s point of view, gave them all distinct voices and personalities, which made the audiobook super engaging and easy to follow.

The narration went smoothly with nice transitions between chapters. I think voices and nuances were handled well.

I enjoyed the use of two narrators to handle both male and female chapters.
