The Secret Doctrine, the Synthesis of Science, Religion and Philosophy, a book originally published as two volumes in 1888, is Helena P. Blavatsky’s magnum opus. The first volume is named Cosmogenesis, the second Anthropogenesis. It was an influential example of the revival of interest in esoteric and occult ideas in the modern age, in particular because of its claim to reconcile ancient eastern wisdom with modern science.

Blavatsky claimed that its contents had been revealed to her by "mahatmas" who had retained knowledge of mankind’s spiritual history—knowledge that it was now possible, in part, to reveal.

The first part of the book explained the origins of the universe itself, in terms derived from the Hindu concept of Yugas, or long passages of time through which the world is supposed to have evolved. Blavatsky attempted to demonstrate that the discoveries of “materialist” science had been anticipated in the writings of ancient sages, and that materialism would soon be proven wrong.

Occasionally dogged by mispronunciation of words. The reader is somewhat forgiven asany words are difficult but how about “latent” - pronounced as LA-tant instead of LAY-tant within the first minute. Another, phar·a·on·ic- does not rhyme with moronic. *shrug*

Fascinating content. Narrator subpar

He mispronounces words throughout which is very distracting - even simple words like photography - as photo graphy, I heard clapping throughout where he cut off to take a break and then came back to read. This was very annoying. He reads over several sentences. I will not purchase another audible narrated by Graham Dunlop. Love the actual book, but not this Narrator. Frustrated by this Narrator

This guy didn’t mute his computer while
Recording. This is an important text and constantly interrupted by his incoming texts, text noises can be heard typing response in background, and then half way through he has another book playing in the background.

I’d appreciate a refund as I can’t finish this guys nonsense.

Narrator has too many noises going through his computer while recording

Yes, it would be preferable that as the listener, you are an initiate of the Mysteries, only for it all to make sense from the get go, Altogether, just the right dose of the Genesis of our existence.

a great review of all things for the Initiated
