To battle her anxiety, Audrey Warren spends conventions in the shelter of her uncle’s failing comic booth, but once she’s convinced to give cosplay a try, everything changes. Dressing as Sailor Moon gives her confidence, and she rocks the con floor with moon prism power...that is, until a group of elitist geek girls corner her and set off a panic attack.

Fellow cosplayer Kyle Porter comes to her rescue! However, it soon turns out her savior is the one in need of saving. Kyle’s dad puts the D in dysfunction when he yanks Kyle into his truck and drives away. Audrey must summon real courage to both save her uncle’s store and rescue her dude in distress - all with only 27 bucks in the bank.

This was a sweet coming of age YA romance. Audrey and Kyle are both dealing with their own issues but find a common ground in the cosplay world.

I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

Cosplayed is an excellent story of two young adults finding acceptance and each other through cosplay. I enjoyed the way the story was written, going back and forth between the 2 main characters, Audrey and Kyle. The narration by Morgane Hadley is really well done and is a highlight of the audiobook version. The only thing that might have been better would have been to have 2 narrators, one male and one female, to cover the 2 different characters.

Kyle's father in the story is a real piece of work, not giving his son a lot of say in how he grows into a young adult and quickly became a very hated character of mine. Overall the story is beautifully written with a small bit of YA romance while covering two teens growing together through a shared hobby. Being a bit of a geek myself, I loved all of the movie and comic references throughout the story.

If you are looking for an enjoyable YA romance, this is an excellent one to go with.

Audrey hides behind characters to battle her anxiety. In today's world, this happens more and more. I really enjoyed the realistic points of Audrey and how she deals with her anxiety. When the situation becomes extreme, Audrey has to face that anxiety to help her friend Kyle. It is a struggle for Audrey and again, the struggle is so realistic. Audrey and Kyle really get into the roles of their characters and it is fun to see them come to life. This is a great story for any Geeks out there!

Morgane Hadley narrated this story. It was read at a slower pace than what I prefer. Ms. Hadley was able to narrate the characters with different tones and made the book easy to follow. Ms. Hadley's voice is pleasant to listen to.

A cute story

A friend recommended this book and I'm so glad she did! It's not my usual genre but I really enjoyed it and quickly became invested in the characters and their stories. Great character development, fast-paced plot, and very well narrated. I empathized with the character's feelings and enjoyed how the voices and point-of-view switched between characters.

Loved it!

I had never heard of cosplaying until I listened to this highly-recommended book. I now get it! I want to go to a CosCon! The story is very well-written and the characters are multidimensional and engaging. The plot builds and thickens with almost every chapter. To tell the truth, halfway through and I couldn't stop until the end. I needed resolution! I was very impressed with how the author managed to develop each of the main characters with their own story and issues yet overlap each of them in a totally natural way. I also loved Ms. Hadley's voice as she deftly switched from one character to the next, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. She really pegged the inflection and style of the teens... and there were a lot of them! I am definitely now a fan of this genre and Ms. Maisano.

Captivating!
