Some people face their problems head-on, other people run . . .

When my ex-boyfriend sends me his wedding invitation eight months after breaking up with me, and the bride expects me to be in the wedding party, it's time for my tried-and-tested party trick: disappearing.

And nowhere is better to escape to than the cozy English Cotswolds in the middle of December.

Everything goes according to plan until I arrive in the Cotswolds. Snow is more slippery than I expected, my room is nothing like the listing described, and my pub owner landlord—well, he steps directly from my lumberjack fantasies and into my heart.

The only problem? I can't fall for an Englishman who lives on the other side of the world from me. Not even one who has Dr Pepper on tap and kisses like it's an Olympic sport. It's much harder to run across the pond, and all good things must come to an end . . . but what if I can't say goodbye?

Loved this! I loved how their journeys combined and healed each other with such fun characters and hilarious moments.

Super romantic and healing all at the same time

Butchered the English “accent” … I had to but the book so I could understand what Rhys was saying. Also, hard to explain that the narrator rushes the conversation. I couldn’t finish.

Terrible marrator

I really enjoyed this Christmas rom-com. It’s a light, fun, feel-good romance. The relationship and characters are well developed, with little stress or unnecessary angst. It’s not deep or thought-provoking, but it’s not shallow or fluffy either. Just a cute and sweet read.

Content:
There’s no foul language, sex, or violence. The romance is limited to lightly descriptive kisses. A secondary character becomes pregnant outside of wedlock. There is no mention of faith or God.

I just finished Kasey Stockton's To Forge Her Fate and really enjoyed that, so I was looking forward to this book. I was a bit disappointed though. The narrator had odd, long pauses throughout- so long that I often looked to see if my phone had stopped working. She also didn't change her voice or inflection when the character was speaking her thoughts, so you couldn't immediately tell if she was talking to another character or to herself. It made for a rather clunky reading.
