In the #1 bestselling series from the world's #1 bestselling author, Jack Morgan teams up with the head of Private India to solve a high-stakes case: one by one, people are missing—and they have to find them before they're dead.

Santosh Wagh quit his job as head of Private India after harrowing events in Mumbai almost got him killed. But Jack Morgan, global head of the world's finest investigation agency, needs him back. Jack is setting up a new office in Delhi, and Santosh is the only person he can trust.

Still battling his demons, Santosh accepts, and it's not long before the agency takes on a case that could make or break them. Plastic barrels containing dissolved human remains have been found in the basement of a house in an upmarket area of South Delhi. But this isn't just any house, this property belongs to the state government.

With the crime scene in lockdown and information suppressed by the authorities, delving too deep could make Santosh a target to be eliminated.

Critic reviews

"Behind all the noise and the numbers, we shouldn't forget that no one gets this big without amazing natural storytelling talent--which is what James Patterson has, in spades. The Alex Cross series proves it."--Lee Child
"It's no mystery why James Patterson is the world's most popular thriller writer: his uncanny skill in creating living, breathing characters we truly feel for and seamless, lightning-fast plots. I do this for a living, and he still manages to keep me guessing from the first to last page. Simply put: Nobody does it better."--Jeffery Deaver
"James Patterson is The Boss. End of."--Ian Rankin

I hesitated to download this book because of early reviews, but they were wrong. The narration was appropriate to the story and well executed. It’s also a great story!

Great Narration

This book was not as good as the others in the series, the story plot was okay, I think it was just hard to get into the plot and the suspense of the book because the reader was not very good. What mostly keeps me into the book is the way the reader changes their voice for each character and how they can project the emotions of the character through their voice, to me Sartaj didn't do a great job at changing his voice. I felt like each character sounded the same and there was no emotion. So when it came to the suspense parts of the book it was like ehh to me.. I honestly don't think I can tell you everything about this book, I know there was a killer but I honestly couldn't keep up with what this story was about.

Not as good

The performance is lacking. Disappointing. The guy used the same voice for multiple characters. Made the book boring.

Not the best

I really liked this story. But, there were just too many characters to keep up with. The narration was interesting. Took me a while to get used to it. At times it was good and other times almost comical. But that is probably the American in me.

Anyway, this was a very good story with so-so narration. Definitely recommend though.

Very Good But....

I love the Private series
At first I was thrown for a loop with the Indian accent of the narrator. Excellently done by the way appropriate since plot mostly in Delhi
Patterson never disappoints.
