In this prequel to a new series we meet Kyle & Reyna. This is the first book in a new series by Ginny Sterling, there are characters and mention of the Flyboys and Healing Hearts series. We also meet Mrs. Kendall who is an eccentric older woman who is obsessed with the Flirts Battalion. If you are unfamiliar with her books, definitely check them out. This book is a sweet love story from start to finish and the relationship between Kyle & Reyna builds throughout. Kyle is the awkward boy next door who is not sure how to tell the girl he likes that it is her that he wants to be with. Reyna just wants someone in her corner. They also introduce a kitten who becomes their own character as well as the rest of the crew that Kyle works with. Each firefighter will have their own book and can't wait to see how the rest of the series will play out. I loved listening to Lorana Hoopes perform the book. I can't wait for the next one to be released.

This is the launch of a new series surrounding the local firefighters of Ember Creek. The narration is good. The story is wonderfully written.

Slab of meat anyone?

This is such a great book and it’s fun to revisit it and hear it read. Flirt’s Battalion is a small town fire department with great men who have each other’s back and razz each other to stay sane. Reyna and Kyle are a perfect couple with an unusual meet cute. I “yam” certain you will love this. Clean. Great start to a new series set in a world in Texas that Ginny has created.
