When the enemy strikes on the eve of her wedding, Wren has no choice but to fight. Captured, she's dragged before the elvish king and given an ultimatum: death or marriage.

She submits, biding her time as she plots and spies, determined to strike at the heart of the elvish royalty and take back her family's throne once more. But the more time she spends with her dangerous and achingly handsome husband, the more she finds herself wavering.

Only the strong survive the hash moors of the Dragon Isles, and she can't afford to second guess her loyalties. So she must strike hard and fast, never wavering, because it's his heart or hers.

Can't put this down. Great story with each chapter building with the characters in the story not disappointing.

Fantastic Read!

Arrik was not likable at all. He killed all of Wren’s loved ones with little to no remorse and made no attempt to lesson the death toll during the battle. In fact he chose to kill everyone because he couldn’t be bothered with taking prisoners.

I have read a book or two with a similar plot in the past but those books handled it better. The reader was able to see the character actively working behind the scenes to lessen the damage caused and remove the monarch from power in order. Those characters were doing the monarch’s dirty work, yes, but they were clearly the better alternative and removed the monarch from power at the first opportunity.

Wren beginning to feel for Arrik did not seem realistic at all.

Gentlemen's voice is not ideal. Katherine's performance was great. A good story can not wait for book 2
