Madison Taylor can’t forget the huge argument she’d had with her brother’s best friend. Technically he was her friend, too, but now that they were older they couldn’t seem to get along. And a year after their unforgettable fight, he’s trying her patience again.

Alex Clark is determined to become a cowboy by the end of their dude ranch vacation. He wants the accomplishment, but he also wants to impress his friend Madison. Even though she’s a little prickly these days, he’s certain she’ll be proud of him when he does it.

A tour of the ranch leads to the expected bickering and before Madison knows it she’s made a bet that takes her well outside her comfort zone. Kissing a stranger may not be the kind of thing she feels comfortable doing, but spending the rest of her dude ranch experience without Alex will be worth it.

When Alex realizes he’s made a mistake in making this bet, he’s sure he has to let Madison know. But his admission will have dire consequences for them both.
