Sure her lips call me every horrible name in the book, but her eyes light up with fire whenever we’re near each other. Sophie’s utter loathing of me only makes her more desirable. All I need is one night to get her out of my system. When we became roommates I knew she wouldn’t be able to resist me for long. But little did I know I wouldn’t be able to resist falling in love.

Crazy Sexy Love is an Enemies-to-Lovers Romance
written by Alison G. Bailey. This is the first book I've read/listened to written by her. I think it was supposed to be a RomCom, but it just didn't do it for me. The characters were too immature so they never grew on me. It wrapped up quickly with a HEA.

The narrators were good. The performance was emotional. Sometimes it's hard to tell when it's the book or the narration that missed the mark. But I truly think it was the book for me.

Doug and Shopie

Sophie and Doug are the "single" friends in their friend group that enjoy flirting and antagonizing each other whenever they can. It's clear to their friends that they'd be a great couple and have chemistry. These two "frenemies" end up temporally living together which really allows them to get to know each other more than surface level. I really enjoyed how their story evolved and Doug's relationship with Sophie's grandmother. New to me narrators Kelli Tager and Quentin Hudspeth did a good job.

You work hard and have been successful—you don’t do relationships. Only one-night stands. The guy you’ve had a few close encounters with, but ostensibly can’t stand randomly shows up at your door one night, needing a place to crash. You reluctantly let him … and wait! Might there be … MORE to him … than you’d realized?

This is your classic forced prox / enemies-to-friends-to-lovers / roommates-to-lovers, tropey, witty contemporary romance. It’s well done, packed with one-liners, banter and set in a fun ‘small town vibes’ world. It works, IMO.

Overall:
It didn’t take long to get into this and it kept me company during lots of work and walk—mundane tasks. My first read by this author, it taught me that I need to explore more from her. Funny, cute, and quick. 4 stars.

This was a flawless audio production with smooth voice-acting and transitions and perfect overall sound quality. 5 stars. 🦩

I am so glad I did this audio, it had me cackling throughout the whole book. Sophie doesn't really care much for Doug, but Doug definitely doesn't feel the same way. Which turns into many entertaining situations. Highly recommend doing this book if you're in need of a good laugh. Especially the audio as the narrators did such a great job.

Sophie and Doug had me laughing at their antics and banter. The story reminded me a little of a movie I love, minus the horrible heartbreak luckily, of a couple's two best friends forced into each other's realms. I actually ended up feeling sorry for Doug as Sophie fired little missile barbs at him, but it was like a rom com playing out in my head and I was just waiting for the next laugh or emotional landmine between these two as they stumbled towards their HEA. I really enjoyed this story and will be looking up others by this author. The narration helped bring the characters to life.
