She broke the rules. Now he sets the consequences.

Lera crossed the line when she disobeyed River’s orders and went over the Academy wall. Now River wants Lera gone - and Coal is just the officer to make her quit.

For Coal, disciplining a wayward cadet is a matter of routine - but he may be in over his head with this fiery student. Leralynn is far stronger than she looks, and with her eerily familiar chocolate eyes and maddening curves, she’s bringing demons to the surface...demons that Coal thought long buried.

But when a rainstorm threatens to destroy the Lera’s last hope for restoring her males’ memories, the battle of wills between her, and Coal turns to war.

Crime and Punishment is the second episode in the Great Falls Academy novella series, featuring the same reverse-harem cast as Alex Lidell’s internationally bestselling Power of Five series. (Listening to the Power of Five novels is not necessary to enjoy Great Falls Academy.)

Crime and Punishment is the second book in this series starring the main characters of Lidell's Power of Five Series. Although I did not read that series before starting this one, I would recommend reading the first book in the series, Rules of Stone, before reading this one. Lera is still trying to repair the rift in the magical world that made her four mates forget their individual histories as well as their history with her. It takes a strong woman to be continually confronted by cold indifference or outright dislike by the men you love and who used to love you. Luckily, Lera has incredible strength, both of character and of spirit, and she keeps fighting her way back to her men. The concept of episodes is equal parts exciting and frustrating. I really want to read the next book NOW, but there is a twisted sort of satisfaction to delayed gratification. I am enjoying this series so much that I plan to go back to the beginning and read the original series. That might even make the wait for book three more bearable!

I really appreciate it when an author keeps the same narrator for all books in a series, and that is thankfully the case with this series. Victoria Mei's light, bubbly voice is perfectly suited for the young adult genre, and I continue to be amazed at how well she handles both male and female roles. Her performance in this book is flawless, and she keeps the story flowing so smoothly that I barely noticed the passage of time while listening.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

I need book three NOW.................

Again I am loving this. I hate that it ends in a huge cliffhanger. But they are short books so I can get through them quickly. I loved this book and can’t wait to read the next.

Dying for the next one

I adore this series, and this story in particular is one of my favorites, cause Coal.

I enjoy this narrator ‘s interpretation of Lera, I am less sure of the male voices - but really, you can only work with what you have, and there is only so much a female voice can do. It’s harder on the really masculine characters like Coal and River. It must be difficult to perform, really.

To be fair, I have only listened to non fiction until now. This is my first romance with both genders being performed by one person. I may get used to it.

Overall, I love her interpretation of Lera, and she drives the action forward and makes it appropriately exciting and draws you into the story.
I adore this series, and this is worth it, especially if you don’t have time to read but like to listen.

Love the series, this is worth it
