Ex-SAS trooper Nick Stone is extremely highly trained. Clever, ruthless and very effective, it is no surprise that he is hired by British Intelligence. On deniable operations - one of the most dangerous lines of work.

Sarah Greenwood is beautiful, intelligent and cunning - and the only woman Stone has ever truly opened up to. But now he has been ordered to hunt her down.

Hotly pursued through the American wilderness, Stone finds himself at the centre of a deadly game of cat and mouse. He must get to the heart of a terrifying conspiracy theory to which only Sarah holds the key. But will he manage to before the tension reaches boiling point?

Critic reviews

McNab is a terrific novelist. When it comes to thrills, he's Forsyth class
McNab's great asset is that the heart of his fiction is not fiction: other thriller writers do their research, but he has actually been there
Addictive... Packed with wild action and revealing tradecraft
McNab is the best suspense thriller writer to put pen to paper since Alistair MacLean (Stephen Coonts)

this is quite a good entertaining (involving) story that did keep my attention. some parts over did the fine detail, which seemed a little pointless unless it is needed later on in the story (sometimes it did, sometimes not). I was slightly disappointed in the ending as I could have predicted it, I also would chosen a different cause of action, but I'm not an sas person, but it did show how involved I'd got with the story!

good but slightly predictable

When I first started to listen to this series, I did so with some trepdiation and initially found the writing very simplistic and not to my liking, but the more I listened the more I realised it really worked as a first person narration. I really enjoyed "Remote Control'" and this was just as good.

I actually like McNanab's style of writing and Thornley really brings the charecter to life delivering the dry sarcastic wit excently. It is a partnership that works so well, the two are made for each other.

I can't wait to start listening to "Firewall"
