For those looking to live in Japan, this series offers penetrating cultural insights to give you a clear idea of what you're in for. Sparing you years of wondering why things are the way they are, Steve gives you the lay of the land with his distinct perspective and sense of humor.
Two decades of living in the country give him the wherewithal to call out the underlying reasons for so many things that few foreign perspectives can.

There were some laugh-out-loud moments, and I learned while I was laughing. For example, the translations of Japanese cultural practices into English were funny.
The part that surprised me most was about sexless marriages. Bummer. I've heard that happens in other countries too. For anyone who is interested in moving to Japan to find a wife, this is an important cautionary tale. Good looking-out, Steve.
I enjoyed this book, and the performance was very good. I would recommend it to anyone interested in living abroad. Cultural differences are real. Learn about them before you travel!
