Extremely enjoyable

I found this audiobook to be extremely enjoyable. It has a great combination of mystery, murder, suspense and humor.
The narrator does a great job of bringing each character to life.

SABRINA IN HOLLYWOOD

CUPCAKES WITH A SIDE OF MURDER is the tenth book in the Daley Buzz Cozy Mysteries series. Though each cozy mystery will stand on its own, I recommend this series for family listening.

You can take Sabrina out of Treasure Cove, but even the bright lights of Hollywood won’t keep her out of a mystery.

On top of the who-dun-it, Sabrina is meeting her favorite star, Hope Hadley, who is playing her in the TV show based on Sabrina’s adventures and finding out what “based-on” means. Her frustration levels may be high between the script and the suspects, but Sabrina is still a positive girl. That’s one of the things I like about her.

It was fun having Hope and Sabrina working together on this cozy mystery. Two of my favorite girl sleuths together.

Narration: Shelby Lewis does a wonderful job of stepping in to narrate this Daley Buzz story. It took some time for my ears to adjust to the new voice, but I found her voice pleasant. She does struggle with editing – having repeated takes not edited out – but that will improve with experience.

Fun mystery!

This is the 10th book in the Daley Buzz series. It stands alone but long time fans will enjoy this story the best. This story has a nice surprise that is even more fun than usual. Nicely read by narrator. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Unexpected Ending!! :-)

Cupcakes with a Side of Murder by Meredith Potts, narrated by Shelby Lewis is Book 10 in the Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery Series. I've followed this series from almost the beginning, and I've enjoyed each of the audiobooks. However, the narrator changes often, so it does take the listener a little time to adjust. Either way, after the way Book 9 in this series ended, I couldn't wait for Book 10 to come out! If you haven't read any of the books in this series, fans of cozies will be happy to hear that this one can also stand-alone.

I must say that Book 10 does seem to have a different feel than the others in the Daley Buzz series. First off, I think Potts has grown as a writer over the course of the series. While we still hear a bit of "he said" and "she said," it is less frequent. Her varied word choice makes listening easy on the ears and more enjoyable. Second, the storyline in Book 10 is all Sabrina, rather than Sabrina and her hubby. This is different than the other books, and it's awesome because it made the storyline unique to the rest and less predictable. :-) The last reason I feel this audiobook was different from the others in the series involves the ending, so I don't want to give it away. You'll have to listen to find out, but those of you who have read or listened to books by Ms. Potts will be pleasantly surprised. I didn't see it coming at all, but it totally makes sense! Was that planned? Authors are so tricky...in a good way! :-)

I struggled with rating the performance of narrator Shelby Lewis. Her voices for specific characters were fun and engaging, but I felt she was really slow moving and had unnecessary pauses here and there. Had that been it, I would have given her a rating of 4/5. However, there are multiple times throughout the recording where words, phrases, and sentences are repeated right after the other. Clearly, this is an editing issue, and I apologize to Ms. Lewis for giving a rating of 3/5 if it is not her responsibility to edit her work (I don't know how it all works...who's in charge of what, etc). Mistakes happen; we are human. I could have easily looked past it, had it only happened once or twice, but because there were more instances than that, my final rating for the performance category is 3/5 stars.

Cupcakes with a Side of Murder: Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery, Book 10 by Meredith Potts, narrated by Shelby Lewis gets my rating of 4/5 stars. I enjoyed the unique storyline, and I especially loved the surprise at the end! I recommend this audiobook to those who enjoy solving cases, as well as to fans of clean and cozy mysteries. FUN! FUN! FUN!

This 10th book of the series is pure fun! I had a great time listening to it! Meredith Potts gives a crossover of Sabrina Carlson and Hope Hadley coming up with a murder to solve in Hollywood. Sabrina has signed a contract to have a series filmed about her life. She goes out to Hollywood to meet the cast and see the set to find out Hope Hadley is playing her! And in the middle of everything a murder takes place. Will Sabrina help out in a strange town to find the suspect? Shelby Lewis narrates this gem and she had me laughing and trying to solve the murder right along Sabrina and Hope. If you have followed these two cozy mystery series, you will love this one!
