Shawn Crowley is on his way home after defeating the vampire who killed his family. On his way home he stops in a small town to rest his horse. But his sleep is interrupted by the sound of cicadas. This is nothing new for early summer. But mixed in with the sound is the sound of people dying.

He hurries outside to find millions of cicadas swarming the town. They aren't just buzzing around lanterns or singing in the trees. They are killing people. But by dawn they're gone. But he knows the following night they'll return. Can Shawn find the reason behind the rage of these docile insects? Or will he be their next victim.

evil cicadas vs cowboys? yes a thousand times

this book was a fun play on the cicada emergence mixed with a twist of fantasy and that good old western charm. I loved every minute of it! Bradley brought it to life in a way that sucks you in. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone!!!!!
