Parental Role Modeling Is a Privilege and a Responsibility

This is a discussion of the importance and impact of parental role models. We will examine several scenarios for how they impacted the lives of the children. The parents in the scenarios are mostly affectionate and providing adults who simply have an incomplete view of the responsibility they have to be the person they want their children to be. The impact of today’s parents on their kids will carry forth into adulthood for them to then either pass along their own version of this legacy to their own children. Parents will either give their children a head start or a hindrance in life by the behavior they model for them. In a BIG PICTURE way we are shaping the future world of all humanity by our own individual conduct our kids see us exhibit. Therefore let’s now look at the scenarios and see how each impacts the children involved and then how many of these kids rose to the challenge and changed themselves.

When we aren’t mindful of the little ones looking at us for how they should be is when we too often give them the wrong idea or impression for how they should be through the actions and choices we make. I hope to raise awareness in parents of how close their kids are watching them for cues to how life is done.
