Army National Guard Colonel Sawyer Kincaid has served her time dueling with death in the deserts of Africa. Now that she's home, the only sand she wants to see is on the beach in South Florida. Too bad Tropical Storm Leo, swiftly gaining strength out over the Atlantic, is about to draw her in to another life or death war, this time on home soil. Dr. Dara Sims has too many critical patients in the intensive care units at Miami Memorial to consider evacuation, no matter how determined the battle-hardened colonel is to make her. As far as Dara is concerned, evacuate is just another word for abandon. When a state of emergency becomes a state of siege waged by Leo, all she can do is hope the rising waters relent before she loses everyone, herself included. A First Responders Romance.

Using a narrator with a lisp makes the entire book difficult to listen to. Why hasn't anyone told this woman she's in the wrong line of work? Radclyffe books deserve better.

This Narrator Though...

I enjoyed the story... Having been a first responder during Hurricane Harvey, I could really relate to the story line... I've been there.... However, the narration was really bad! The narrator didn't pull off the different voices like some of the other Radclyffe narrators. I had to rewind a lot to stay on track and had difficulty telling the different characters apart. Abby Craden and Nicole Zanzarella are great. This chick sucked!

Good Story-Crappy Narration!

Very entertaining and appealing, good plot left you wanting more.

Should have had a few more chapters

Captivating

Story wasn't as good as most of her others, but it could have been the narrator that put me off. The narrator has (or maybe one of the characters?) a lisp that would carry over to other characters & was Extremely distracting. As well as the storyline almost seemed like it was condensed maybe? Compared to most other Radclyffe novels.

Another Amazing novel byRadclyffe

I enjoyed the characters connection but this book felt different from the other first responders and I can't put my finger on it just yet.

I loved it!
