A troubled psychiatrist turns investigator when a young patient confesses to murder.

Psychiatrist Mark Angelotti knows that genes don't lie. Or do they? Back at work after a devastating illness, Mark believes he has put his past behind him when he is asked to examine Charlie Dickerson, a mentally handicapped teenager whose wealthy mother insists he is a victim of sexual abuse. Mark diagnoses a different reason for Charlie's ills, but his prescription turns deadly when a teacher is murdered and Charlie confesses to the police. Volunteering to testify on Charlie's behalf, Mark's worst fears are realized when paternity tests show the victim was pregnant with Charlie's child. Now it's up to Mark to prove Charlie's innocence in a case where nothing is as first meets the eye. Not even genes - Mark's or Charlie's - can be trusted to shine a light on the truth.

Would you consider the audio edition of Dante’s Wood to be better than the print version?

Well, I am an audiophile, so I like to listen instead of read. This is a somewhat silly question. I think the courtroom scenes might be served very well by audio; and they were.

What other book might you compare Dante’s Wood to and why?

I love courtroom dramas. This is one of the best I have ever heard. Had to stay in the car in the garage after getting home to finish the courtroom sections!

What about Stefan Rudnicki’s performance did you like?

His pacing is superb. I was amazed at how well he did the young boy (although he did that so well in Ender's Game) despite his marvelous bass voice.. A dynamite performance.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Some play on words with the "blind" element.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to get the other two sequels! I love it when audiobooks are produced as a series. Binge listening! This would make a great TV series.

Fascinating Debut Novel and Performance!
