Generic, but in a good way

This compilation of short stories is perfect for the commuting listener who likes to enjoy a few quick stories. A few of the books I've listened to recently have been 30+ hours long and at about 1.5 hours of listening a day it takes me a while to get through them.

Enter the short story. I've enjoyed all three of the offerings from Mr Kelly so far. He is macabre and twisted and has the ability to give you that little bit of shock and revulsion that comes from the dark and unknown. Fun stuff. Well worth the couple bucks being asked. I think you'll enjoy these short stories, give'm a try!

Death and Darkness in the South, lots of fun.

Story - 4.3
Narration - 4.5

Dark Dixie by Ronald Kelly was a real joy to listen to!

No shock schlock here! These are well constructed horror tales with a down home feel. The narrator's style added to this effect.

Recommendation - heck yeah. And the audio upgrade is very reasonable.

Dang!

Copulating copperheads, roadside butchers, a big ass bird egg, blood red corn on the cob, the baby graveyard and hearses make shitty parade floats.

I like me some Ronald Kelly and this is a nice collection of shorts.

Dark Dixie is a great collection of short scary stories. They aren't too horrific. They are about as scary as an episode of the old kids show Are You Afraid of the Dark which is what this book reminded me of. Great narration as well.

Great collection
