A woman is murdered in an empty house. Within 24 hours there is another horrific murder using the same method. The detectives soon deduce that the victims are random, but the locations are not. The killer looks for the right house - somewhere he won't be disturbed.

When a man confesses, it looks like the case is closed, but Detective Stephen Greco is unconvinced. Can he keep control when things get personal?

I enjoyed the story but, as with the previous book, the narrator is so busy acting and emoting all over the place that he ends up being barely audible in a lot of places. I have the volume at maximum and still can't hear him. Then I get my ears blasted.

The narrator needs to stop whispering

I love when I discover a new series that is smart and well written and this is one. DCI Greco is an interesting character and we learn even more about him in this second book. In the last book he got together with his exwife and I wasn't to happy about the plotline but in this book you get more insight and I can't say more without a spoiler. I thought I knew the killer right away but was wrong. It was a good read getting to the bad guy and the ending is left open for the next. I can't wait to read it. Highly recommend and this would stand alone if you missed the first. Narration good, character voices clean, easy to understand and unique enough that you knew who was speaking.

Second in series even better than first
