I thought I was inheriting a life of glitz and glamour, but all I got was a castle that even a reality television show wouldn't touch.

After inheriting Darkmoor Manor, I was ready to start my new life living in a castle. Instead, what I found inside my new home was a world full of chaos and things that make even grown men cry.

The basement leads straight to hell, and the only ones stopping demons from raining terror on earth are four gargoyles...and me.

I was taught to fear monsters, but with time running out to stop the demons, I'm left with no other choice but to trust the monsters that turn to stone.

Will we succeed, or will the demons bring hell right to my doorstep?

This story had a lot of potential for me but it felt like there was too much packed into a kind of standalone (it felt like there could be more though to this story with how it ended). I felt like with how much story was there it could have been split a bit and not felt like all the matings happened in the first half of the book, but again that might be personal preference. I like to see relationships develop more in RH because there are multiple guys, but we didnt get that as much because of how the authors approached it. We didnt get as much time with some of the gargoyles (particular my big fav cinnamon roll haha) so again that kind of goes back to my previous comment. That is really my only critique and why I gave it straight 4 stars instead of 5.

In terms of the story, I liked the concept, I LOVED the references to the old gargoyle cartoon and other cartoons I grew up on. Made me miss it and look up old episodes online haha. I appreciated the underrepresented supernatural creatures, and appreciated their “monster traits” haha. I liked that they were all very different. The Dom/leader, the funny/flirty one, the quiet cinnamon roll protector, and the misunderstood mystery who had alpha-hole tendencies. I appreciated the MM and wanted more. I also loved the addition to this harem, that was a fun surprise hahaha. Overall these relationships were great, the sexy times were 🔥🔥🔥, and I felt the love of their new found family. I appreciated the humor from one of the harem’s family members haha. I wasn’t sure if the authors meant him to sound somewhat ridiculous, but thats how the narrators made him out to be so I giggled at lot at his antics haha. Especially the end 🤣 OH and loved some of the side characters too (like a certain doggy and bestie). Plot was done well, I liked the concept and thought the evil creatures were described well, the battles were exciting and that one part kept me on the edge of my seat needing to know if they were ok.

Narration was good, I think for me its hard for the female narrator of this amazing duo to not be a fierce BA character haha. When she tries to do a more meeker character it isn’t as believable, not sure why. I thought in this instance she did a good job, but with some of the vulnerable moments it wasn’t as believable. OH but the humor was on point haha. Lack of filters are amazing. I thought the male narrator did a good job. I think my only questions and comments were how a certain demon sounded like a similar demon he has narrated before and how his father was not how I pictured he would be (again not sure if the authors made it seem like that since I didnt read it). It made for a more humorous story but it took away from his scare factor. He didnt seem imposing or fear-inducing at all. Good job though by them both, will continue to listen to them in the future 😊

Darkmoor Manor is a great collaboration between Jenn D. Young and Aspen Black. I love these two authors and genuinely enjoyed this book. I love it when people who have no idea about the paranormal are introduced to it in unexpected ways.
Jake and Bridgette did an amazing job of bringing the story to life and made it so much more enjoyable.

Loved it.

I love when these narrators do demon voices. They are always my favorite ones lol. I enjoyed the fun story line and the reference to my childhood favorites. This is a novella so it’s a quick paced story with heat that ramps up pretty quick once it gets started! The main characters is a quirky girl with no filter and those kind of characters always have a special place in my heart because really who needs a filter. Ends in a bit of a cliffhanger which seems like her bestie will be getting some time in the spot light. The storyline is complete but is left open enough for another book because things could happen. Fun read!

Fun quick reverse harem
