One hundred years ago, our great-great-grandparents simply married the girl or boy next door. Compatibility and true love didn’t always play into the equation. Today’s expanded dating world should make finding the ideal partner easier than ever. Somehow, though, the task of finding the right mate has become more difficult instead.

Modern dating is a marketplace—one where attraction, perception, and positioning matter just as much as compatibility. Yet, most people approach dating with no real strategy, leading to confusion, mismatches, and wasted time.

But how might things change if you could apply the proven principles of brand management to your love life? The world's most successful brands don’t rely on chance. They analyze, position, and optimize to achieve their goals.

Date Like a Brand will help you apply the Six Ps of Strategic Dating.

  1. Pre-Assessment will help you understand yourself and the dating landscape.
  2. Purpose defines what love and partnership mean for you.
  3. Positioning empowers you to present yourself authentically and attractively.
  4. Prime Prospecting lets you identify and engage with high-potential matches.
  5. Performance Dating teaches you how to test, learn, and adjust based on real experiences.
  6. Partnership Marketing for Marriage builds and sustains a thriving, long-term relationship.

I picked up this audiobook hoping for genuine relationship advice, but it felt more like a business seminar than guidance on love. The constant comparison between dating and branding made everything sound transactional and artificial. Relationships require emotional depth, not sales funnels and positioning strategies. The narration also felt overly scripted and robotic, which made it hard to stay engaged. Definitely not what I expected.

Love Isn’t a Marketing Campaign

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

This audiobook treats dating like a cold, calculated business process. Real relationships are emotional and complex, but the author oversimplifies everything into strategies and positioning. It felt robotic and lacked genuine empathy or understanding of real-life dating struggles.

Unrealistic and Emotionally Detached

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

I understand the metaphor, but it’s stretched way too far. Every chapter loops back to branding language, making dating feel like selling a product. Love should be organic, not optimized like a campaign. The audiobook delivery didn’t help either — it felt scripted and stiff. I was hoping for insight, but got marketing jargon instead.

A Business Plan for Romance? No Thanks

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

This audiobook tries to turn romance into a marketing pitch. Instead of authentic advice about connection and vulnerability, it focuses heavily on strategy and “value propositions.” Love shouldn’t feel like managing a product launch. The examples felt repetitive, and the framework quickly became predictable. I couldn’t finish it.

Too Corporate for Something So Personal

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

The narrator’s tone was flat and uninspiring, which made it difficult to stay engaged. Even the few decent ideas were ruined by the dull delivery. I found myself losing focus and skipping sections. Overall, not an enjoyable listening experience.
