Acclaimed memoirist and poet Asha Bandele writes a startlingly honest work of fiction. Miriam Rivers tries to give her daughter Aya a good life, but also keeps her at an emotional distance. One tragic night while Aya is taking a jog, she is mistaken for a robber and shot. With her daughter fighting for her life, Miriam must open up and let herself face the feelings of the past and the present.©Asha Bandele (P)Recorded Books, Inc African American

This book keep me wanting more. I couldn't wait until my walk the next day to listen. A great book about mother and daughers and running out of time.

After listening to this book, twice I found it to be extremely interesting and enlightening. Miriam learns that life can be very lonely, even more so when you hardly know the ones that you love. The audio book is better than reading the paperback.

A very interesting story

it should have been an epilogue that tells more about what happened later on or next
