The Stormking has brokered an uneasy peace with the West, but the threat of an elven invasion looms in the East.

Hoping to prevent a bloody war, Will departs in search of the mythical hidden gate to the elven homeland and believes the country is safe in his absence.

He is wrong.

Adept at manipulation, the elves seek to conquer from within, and their spies have already infiltrated the kingdom. As Selene prepares to defend her throne, she discovers that the elven plot runs deeper than the blackest shadows. Duty demands she put her nation first, but a loathsome ally urges a darker choice. Beset by foes and without the Stormking, she has never been so alone… or vulnerable.

She cannot win without power. To gain it, she must embrace an ancient evil or make the ultimate sacrifice. But she is Selene, the lich queen of Terabinia, and defiance is in her blood. When the hour comes, she will rise to face her legacy—and curse—as the Daughter of the Dragon.

this entry was not as good as the prior book, but still leagues better than the finally of the prior series. for me the main issue was the bouncing around between points of view felt too often, and lasted for too short of a time.
also, criminally small amount of Will screentime, but that's what you get in s book titled the dragon's daughter.
I'm guessing the series is going to start taking a wheel of time esk approach to the story, ie a large cast of characters with individual stories that intersect. only time will tell.

decent follow up

I absolutely love these books !! 100% recommend. If you love Harry Potter, you'll love these even more.

It’s been a while so some catching up with the story is in order. Should have listened to last book again for a refresher but it came together and clicked eventually with this one not being centered on Will but his supporting characters and their development More. If you didn’t catch the last series there’s a couple of characters from that world that make an appearance. Pleasantly surprising. This one is not as sexually explicit and disturbing as the last one but has really good action and moves well
Looking forward to the next development

First half of the book was the "weakest" part of all the installments in this series, IMHO.

2nd half was on par with previous works and very enjoyable.

Looking forward to the next book!

Decent installment that sets up plots

Just went through and re-listened to the whole series all over again and it never fails to make my days better. My only gripe about this one was how quick it went by! After going back through each book, wow, the setups that have been left in each on and having this whole book adding to it...I need Manning to put all other books on hold and pump this series out non-stop! Just discovered Mordecai and will start that right now. Thank you for another incredible addition to the series!
