Luke awakens feelings inside Kate she doesn't recognize, and his steady presence is a constant distraction. She has only written about love in the past, never known it herself. But her feelings for Luke stand in the way of all she has to gain if she is chosen as the heir.

Perhaps God brought Kate to the barrenness of the desert to give new life to her jaded heart.

Funny and clean historical romance

Since I enjoy Nancy Peterson as a narrator, I decided to try listening to my 1st historical romance. I'm so glad I did! This book hooked me and had me laughing out loud at some parts.

The story was sweet and down to earth.

Really enjoyed listening to this book. It had excitement, adventure and was a cute story. A wonderful ending with Kate and Luke in love and will more than likely be married.

Christian Historical Romance

What an absolutely absurd and wonderful story! I loved everything about it except their time apart! The narration was superb, except the dog barking. That was plain ridiculous! Those aunts were a hoot, but I did with the banker finally got his woman!

Love this writer because she seems to speak from experience and understanding. I love this book because it shows how much experience. You receive through life experience I thank the writer for this wonderful book and how much it speaks to the heart and the speaker is a wonderful speaker. She’s brought the book to Life. I thank God for this wonderful book and all those who had a part in it. Thank you 🙏🏻

her voice

I wasn't a fan of her "accent" but got through the book. I wish the author knew the difference between a steer and a heifer. As a farmer it made the book annoying to listen to. a steer is a castrated bull aka MALE cow not a girl.
