Charlaine Harris
A number-one New York Times best-selling author, Charlaine Harris penned the addictive Sookie Stackhouse series. In Day Shift psychic Manfred Bernardo is hounded by the press after a client drops dead during a reading. Turning to the local vampire's lover for help, Manfred hopes she can put the squeeze on the scandal before someone else is put on ice.

All are unique and have what I call book appeal (you would want to meet them outside of the written page) .
Keep up the great word smithing Ms. Harris. Keep us fans wondering if you've cast a spell on us too.
Look out people! More supernaturals to love!

Charlaine is a master at writing distinctive characters with dialogue so funny and descriptions of people that are so accurate and quirky that I find myself LOL throughout the book.
This story was very exciting and figuring out all these characters secrets, motivations, and what makes them tick was a true enjoyment for me...on to the next.
Great story with a great narrator.

Two novels in and we seem to know less than we knew about bon temps after the first few chapters of the first novel. The characters are engaging and likeable, but it feels to me like I'm watching them from afar instead of truly getting to know them.
That being said, the world created is interesting enough that I'll definitely finish the series, I just feel there's a lot of unfulfilled potential here. Hopefully it's realized as the series moves on.
A little slow for a Harris novel
