Book is great as always

Loved the book, not my favorite voice over. Too monotone at times. Hard to get used to.

I like Allison Brennan’s stories very much. Her characters and storylines are always something I look forward to.

My favorite Lucy Kincaid book thus far!!!

This book for me was the best in the Lucy Kincaid series thus far. I am new to this series and at first I wasn’t to sure if I would like the series but in my experience the first book in a series is more often than not my least favorite. Book one in this series wasn’t that great however, I fell in love with Sean and Lucy. Lucy had a horrific incident as a teen however in the 7+ years since her attack and kidnapping she has persevered and become a bitchin badass who you can’t help but love and root for. I enjoyed the introduction of her characters such as Nate, Brad, Jack (whom we’ve heard about but never met), and Ryan Kerros. How Lucy could have lived through her attack and continue to witness the worst humanity has to offer without truly losing it is amazing. This book is totally worth the credit and I love that Lucy is willing to lose it all to not only do what’s right, but also go above and beyond saving many lives including a a heroic life saving rescue of kids and a fellow officer knowing she won’t get any recognition.
I started liking Juan her boss however his treatment of Lucy at the end was uncalled for.

Would you try another book from Allison Brennan and/or Kate Udall?

I love Allison Brennan and would gladly listen to all of her books if Kate Udall did not narrate them. I find her to be an absolutely awful narrator and will not purchase ANY book she narrates ever again!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The story was good and I enjoy the characters. It was a bit predictable but still worth it.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kate Udall?

Anyone...her voice is abrasive and she talks like she has a mouthful of spit. The way she does the different voices is annoying and it was just painful to listen to.

Was Dead Heat worth the listening time?

It was well worth the read but save yourself the time and aggravation and just buy the book and not the audiobook.
