A shifter smorgasbord - and yet still dull

Rhino shifter, raptor shifter, it’s like the author threw a bunch of creatures in a hat and made shifters out of whatever she pulled out. And yet, for all the variety, there’s very little detail about what a rhino shifter looks like, how one lives, whether shifters are born or made by a bite, etc. in fact, that’s my problem with this series: it just tells us the outline of a story and spends zero time coloring between the lines,
