Rocky Points, a small town in the mountains of Colorado, has just been hit with an epic snowstorm, and while skiers at the resort are enjoying deep turns and face shots, the rest of the people in town are struggling to dig themselves out.

When a dead body is uncovered - brutally murdered and clearly marked with some sort of cryptic message - Sheriff David Wolf and his deputies are put on the clock, left scrambling to find a committed killer, and stop him before the corpses start piling higher than the snow.

Wolf's investigation leads him through the back rooms of Rocky Points, and when he unveils corruption involving the highest authorities, he's forced to gamble everything - life, limb, and his entire career - in order to reveal the truth.

Unfortunate to have the time to be able to read a lot of books, and I’ve learned to recognize talented and skilled authors. I’m pleased to say that I’m a new fan of Jeff Carson and the David Wolf series. I’m a native to Colorado and have been delighting and the authors description where the series takes place.
Mr. Carson creates characters that have depth, and invents interesting plots.
If the book descriptions appeal to you, you won’t be disappointed.

Very engaging story

The story was good, but would have been better w a different narrator. I almost stopped listening by the end of the first chapter. However, the narration seemed to improve about a third of the way through, so I was glad that I persevered

Good read

This series reminds me a bit of the old Murder She Wrote series. Sure there are loads of differences, the protagonist is a law officer - the sheriff but books 2-4 are 'small town' murder mysteries. There is lots of text put into developing the characters, we get to know them. The good guys are good yet with there are the usual human flaws; the bad guys are cold and ruthless. There are some twists but the listener/reader can generally figure out who done it before the end. There are occasional inconsistencies that are minor jolts to the listener and if this had been the first or second book I would have let it go but as the 4th in the series it cost the story one star. It is a worth while enjoyable mystery series. I am looking forward to when the rest of the series becomes available.

Murder She Wrote-esque
