Marnie Baranuik is back, and this time, the Great White Shark of psychic investigations has "people skills" and a new assistant who seems to harbor an unhealthy curiosity about Harry, her revenant companion. Together, they've got a whole lot of questions that need answering. Is an ancient vampire hunting in Denver? Who is stalking Lord Dreppenstedt? How do you cure a slipper-humping bat, ditch an ogre, or give a demon king the slip? And what the hell was she thinking swearing off cookies? Teaming up with her sexual nemesis, Special Agent Mark Batten, and their long-suffering supervisor, Gary Chapel, Marnie discovers that vampire hunters aren't easy to rescue, secrets don't stay buried, and zombies sure are a pain in the ass to kill.

Omg! What wasn’t going on? The team is back and we have a few new members. There are not only zombies but hybrids also. The crew has their hands full between trying to kill these things, find their maker, not slip in alllll the zombie bits or get bit. Chapel went from feeling Marnie’s pain to feeling something else, Marnie is working on fixing that. A fun listen!

Loved it!

Marnie is my spirit animal. This is, by far, my favorite series. I’ve read all of the books more than once and listened to them more times than I can count. Amy McFadden brings the characters to life like she was the one Ms. Aalto had in mind the whole time.

Like others have said, this one is a lot more gory. I wouldn’t suggest trying to eat while listening to some of the zombie descriptions because she brings them to life (heh heh) like no one else. Marnie has definitely grown up a bit since the last book, but I love that she’s still hilariously naive and kind of a screw up - but in a good way! I’m on the fence between Harry and Batten but I love the complicated dynamic between the three of them.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about this series other than that they get better with every book, which is hard with a series. I have a hard time with series books because they usually end up in weird places that lose my interest quickly. This one is the complete opposite. The whole series is well worth the money and I can’t wait for more!

This is the best series I’ve read AND listened to!

I can't press enough how amazing this Book Series is. I absolutely love Marnie and I have never read anything like it. It is non stop entertainment, I laugh out loud, I get completely sucked in and can't stop listening, I get feeling Frisky, I get Happy, I get on the Edge of my Seat. Seriously this series is so great I want everyone in the world to read it!

Not Enough Adjectives in the world to describe!!!

I just can't think of the last series that has had me soo hooked. I really love this series.

Perfection

This series has no redeeming social values, but all of the things that make a book great fun. Sex and magic, vampires and zombies, and I think I already mentioned cookies. Marnie is a completely ditzy and delightful heroine, and I think I keep listening (I listen to rather than read any book that has an audio version, so I can do needlework at the same time) just to hear what hilarious thing she will say or do next.

Book candy, or maybe cookies?
