Death of the Grinderfish

The air is lethal in Altenbyrne.

There is no escaping the poisonous fog within the kingdom’s walls. The river is infested with deadly grinderfish, and creatures beyond the wall prey on those who venture out. After Tristin’s failed attempt to save their mother from a dying mask, he and Makenna are forced to flee the all-powerful Angel of Justice. To hide, they cross the treacherous Slaybyrne River where a ragged group of outlaws live. But Tristin isn’t satisfied with merely hiding while others still die from failing masks. He dreams of a better world. Using his secret God of Speed, he sneaks back into the city to steal life masks from the rich, a crime punishable by death.

This would make an amazing movie! If you only listen to one audible this year this has to be the one!

Peter Leppard just jumped to my to 5 fav narrator's. He will take you on a breathless journey to another place and time. and you'll enjoy every minute of it.

Kept my attention the entire time!

This story kept my attention throughout. Sometimes when I listen to books, I zone out doing other things. With this book,I didn’t want to miss a minute. Great characters and the narrator has a voice well matched to the story. Recommend :)

great adventure

I loved the characters and how the story developed. I even got emotional at one point during the journey.
I have listened to other books by this author and recommend "Tamed", his style keeps getting better each time. I look forward more by Douglas in the future. Well done Sir.

Don’t let the odd title fool you.

I am so pleased I was gifted this audio. By its title and cover I wouldn’t have thought it would be my thing. What an awesome fantasy story. I highly recommend it. Set in a world of repression a kingdom does the unthinkable to achieve ultimate rule over its people.

Great narration, voice overs reflect the right atmosphere the author is trying to portray.

keeps you saying "oh my gosh"

kept me well entertained and hoping for more books to come. couldn't help but fall in love with some of the characters. some of them even survived til the end.
