The adventures continue for Holton Lang and Jules... Heading for the mountains, Holton, Jules and their young traveling companion come to the aid of a homesteader in North Texas. As they become invested in the struggle to keep the ranch out of the hands of the incoming railroad, priorities are shifted and new familial bonds are created. Expansion into the Western frontier cannot be stopped, but maybe the railroad can be deterred from leaving them in its tracks.

As I traveled through western America for work, I remembered to track down the West to Bravo series and this one proved to be a welcome companion on trips in the recent past. I'd listened to the earlier series books when traveling for work through the western plains and Rocky Mountains before and was ready for another adventure. The characters within seemed to instantly fit the landscape and helped pass the miles.

Well, this novel was no exception and was once again a welcome travel companion. I've said it before, the author and narrator work together to make it seem like you are there on the dusty trail, hearing and seeing the western history come to life all under the big Texas - Arizona sky.

Another welcome ride

How stupid some of the characters are example the sheriff has been trying to kill them for four days they finally get the upper hand on the sheriff and what did they do they give the guns back to the sheriff no one could be that stupid not even in make believe

I like this guy’s books, and even this one’s kind of enjoyable, the stupidity of the main characters is almost unbelievable
