The diagnosis, treatment and reporting of dementia is a massive and previously unrecognised scandal. The staggering fact is that most cases of dementia could probably be cured in a week or two. Anyone who says otherwise is either woefully misinformed or a drug company mouthpiece. The author, Dr Vernon Coleman MB ChB DSc FRSA is a Sunday Times bestselling author and Britain's most successful medical writer. His books have sold over two million copies in the UK and been translated into 26 languages. Physical Illness & Disease Mental Health Health

I very much enjoyed listening and learning. My mother is diagnosed with Dementia. I’m not sure how I can get her Drs to look deeper. She had depression and took antidepressants for years! Earlier in her life, in her mid 50’s they diagnosed her with Alzheimer’s but God told her to get a second opinion. She did and was told had been misdiagnosed. After taking her off all the Alzheimer’s medications she returned to her normal self. 3 years ago at age 80 she was diagnosed with Dementia. So, it does make me curious about the dementia she is diagnosed with now. My sister has power of attorney and makes all decisions and does not listen to me. So, this is very hard having information that could dramatically help her!
I’m thankful I listened to this and will be sharing it. With any favor maybe my sister will listen!

Found this audiobook very insightful. I learnt that the causes for dementia are many, including some pharmaceutical medications, vitamin B12 deficiency and Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) - with most of them being treatable.
