Jack Carter thought he'd seen the worst, but that was just wishful thinking. A revelation comes to light, as Jack prepares to face Harbinger alone, and it changes everything.
On top of that, the news is delivered by a beautiful envoy from the Council. She is not what Jack expected, and he must prepare for battle, while trying to sort out his feelings.
Does his heart still belong to Mandy, or has the new woman in his life changed his mind.
What he does know, if he doesn't defeat Harbinger, his feelings won't matter anyway.

Continue the series
The basic premise behind the novellas is is that some people called runners die refuse to go forward to the spirit world. Thus there is a need for chasers to find them and send them on to the spirit world. The protagonist Jack Carter is recruited to be a chaser. The ultimate antagonist is an evil runner who has been on the run for more than 100 years and has not yet been caught and sent on by chasers. Meanwhile the long term runner is doing lots of damage including killing people. Of course, most of the runners are very short term: they only want to see a grandchild's upcoming play or notify a loved one they are fine.
Jack Carter's story deserves 5 stars on creativity alone, but it is also a well written and fascinating story. Books 1 and 5 in audio format are severely overpriced even for Kindle Unlimited members, but the boxed set of all six is $2.99 to purchase in Kindle format or free to borrow for Kindle Unlimited members. Books 2, 3, 4 and 6 are still excessively priced $5 each in audio format. Go Kindle rather than audio with this series and save over $30.
I hesitate to review the novellas in this series
