Am 29. Oktober 1843 kehrt der Emigrant Heinrich Heine nach zwölfjähriger Abwesenheit von Deutschland unter Gefahr für Leib und Leben aus Paris zurück in das Land seiner Väter und Mütter. Und die Augen gehen ihm über.
"Deutschland. Ein Wintermärchen" ist eine Satire in Versform auf das feudalistische Deutschland und ein Gipfelpunkt der politischen Lyrik in der deutschen Literatur.
