Would you give up everything you’ve worked for your whole life for a chance at true love?

Ashley Tanner’s only desire after losing her father to a prescription overdose as a teenager has been to support her working-class family. Now an ambitious lawyer, she’s on the verge of achieving the coveted partnership she’s worked for her entire career. But with her goal in sight, the return of a mysterious woman from Ash’s past puts the promotion at risk and forces her to confront the sacrifices she’s made to win at all costs.

Caitlyn Brewster is a self-made woman who was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Guarding that secret has kept her from cultivating meaningful relationships. In fact, only one woman has managed to pierce Caitlyn’s defenses. A woman who runs more cold than hot. A woman best forgotten. A woman who, when a family emergency forces Caitlyn to move back home to Boston and accept a job at her uncle’s law firm, suddenly becomes her biggest rival.

Their volatile chemistry makes them a powerhouse legal duo, but the energy crackling between them might be more than they’re willing to admit. The closer they work together, the harder it becomes to control their desires, even as they’re faced with a case with stakes that could change everything for them both.

They’re both used to doing whatever it takes to win. What happens when only one of them can be victorious in the end?

If you enjoy a sensual ice queen age-gap office romance with a touch of humor, adorable family, and the cutest puppy on the planet, don’t miss Miranda MacLeod and TB Markinson’s latest collaboration!

this story is cute. it has some steamy moments (though i wish there were more) and the plot is interesting. i genuinely enjoyed this story. i just wish it wasn’t so short and some of the tension was drawn out between the 2 main characters.

easy and enjoyable listen

I loved the MC character development and the secondary story. The secondary story would make a great legal fiction on its own or sequel.

Angela Dawes distinct voices for the characters made it all the more enjoyable.

Cute romance story with a mystery

This book started out very interesting with the main characters feeling instant attraction to each other when they first meet being in opposite ends when it comes to basically everything. Then we are thrown 6 years later and life brings them back at each other’s lives as rivals. The premise is really good, however I have a slight problem with the execution. Ash and Caitlin do have a lot that they need to figure out about themselves first and then them as something other than colleagues/rivals etc There are a lot of arguments and a lot of childish imo misunderstandings happening between them that are never actually resolved. Both characters are into their heads so much (which we get to witness) but they do not sit down to really talk. Also I have to say that at times their thoughts were too much of horny teens rather than mature adults. I wanted a bit more in depth conversations between them so the HEA would make a bit more sense. Their reactions were mostly over the top to the point they were both annoying. Angela did her best and the voices she chose were beautifully executed. What I missed is a deeper connection between these beautiful ladies. The supporting characters appearing were obscured at large apart from Caitlin’s sister

Instant opposites attract!
