Going to the chapel and we’re gonna get … haunted?

I’ve got a ring on my finger and a date circled on the calendar, let the wedding planning begin! As luck would have it, the little wooded chapel I’ve got my heart set on, is plagued by the not-so-nice spirit of a former bride.

She died on what was meant to be her wedding day and isn’t going to step aside to let anyone else take her place at the altar. She claims the chapel is cursed and points to her own murder as a sure sign, but I’m not convinced.

I’ll have to keep my new reaper powers in check and solve this case the old-fashioned way if Lucas and I have any shot at starting our happily ever after underneath the majestic pines.

Now at volume 5 in this series this story continues with what fans have come to love. Lots of interplay between Scarlet, Lucas, and our favorite familiar ghost friends. I will say as someone who listens to all of Danielle Garrett's series this is my favorite and for a supernatural tale the most realistically depicted. The relationships and interactions between the living and dead feel very fleshed out (pun intended) and the audience sees clear development of Scarlet both in her self-awareness, her relationships, and in her powers. I also love the chemistry and partnership Scarlet has with her partner Lucas which is sorely lacking in the other Beechwood series. The two in this series seem well matched both risk takers and both with a sense of humor about the supernatural abilities and disruptions and chaos it can cause. I will say Scarlet goes even further in her risk taking and meddling than Holly does in the other series but somehow it comes off as less cringe worthy. As with the rest of the series you are guaranteed a happy ending and resolution. There is a sense of evolving without any annoying cliff hangers. For fans of a light supernatural mystery that focuses on relationships with a slight murder mystery in the background this is for you. The characters are fun, full, and there is playful humor throughout. Amanda Ronconi performs beautifully as always. A sure bet for fans of the series. This was not my favorite volume as it did feel more like a transition edition (the story felt secondary to moving the main character to a new life), it is still great.

Short but sweet. Moves along at a nice pace. Reveal was a surprise but a bit contrived. Amanda Ronconi is the Queen of comfort listening. She’s like an old best friend. I often seek her out when I’ve got a case of the blues. She cheers me right up the way best friends do. Love the series

The book is not written with, he said/she said, typical distracting verbiage, it flows like a story occurring in your mind.

The author and Amanda Ronconi who I always enjoy as an a narrator, are a match made in heaven. Keep up the great work.

Danielle Garrett and Narrator Ronconi are a perfect match!

this is a good book and a good series. I have listen to a lot of cozy mystery series and they all end up the same at the end, they had to get married. to me that sort of puts a damper on it, call me a cynic, just saying. but all in all a great series. loved the narrator.

good series!

I love Amanda Ronkoni (sp?) and the way she performs these books. This one had some pretty amusing moments and the storyline kept my attention for sure. Enjoyed it very much.
