Growing up as the improper son of a wealthy white merchant and his Creole mistress, Randulet Thibodeaux is a street-savvy Southern boy who’s seen more prejudice and hardship than any boy should have to. When his younger brother dies in a tragic accident, Randulet realizes that he’s tougher than the devil by a damn sight, and he’s going to need to be tough to protect himself and his family from the workings of an underground bent on his destruction. As he does what he must to save himself from a plot contrived by greed and carried out by evil, he comes to understand that God has carved him out of rough stone to shine like diamonds of the quarter, and as he comes of age, he triumphs as an unlikely hero.

The story is real- gritty and crassly real. But I loved it.

Knowing the author and where she lives - did nothing to prepare me for this story of the Deep South and the world of the 1960s.
June Marie’s ability to build a world so different to the Wyoming/Idaho life where she lives is incredible. Her writing style and wit demonstrates a depth of which I Never dreamed she possessed.
I always knew her to be smart and highly competent in her own right. With this story she has demonstrated a whole new facet of who she is as an artist and a professional writer.
I have asked her to submit her books in audible format for some time now. I am so pleased that she has done so now!
