Darken Voss and his Vipers are heroes for hire, but their professional code is constantly tested, and sometimes it’s forced to bend.

When a run-of-the-mill rescue mission takes a dark turn, the Vipers take refuge on a derelict, semi-sentient starship carrying a mysterious alien life form. This discovery will pull the crew directly into a struggle with two ruthless enemies. A tyrannical queen who is planning genocide to secure her immortality. And a mining concern who will stop at nothing to make a profit.

Voss is forced into a dilemma with no good resolution. To save the innocent will cost him his moral code . . . and some of his found family. To walk away will mean the death of a planet.

This is a Character-Driven Space Opera about the impossible choices that demand the ultimate price. The Vipers will learn that no deed, good or bad, comes without a final, crushing debt.
