This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.

“There are people who enjoy watching kids being killed—and eaten—by dinosaurs.” Kayce shrugged matter-of-factly. “We try to deny them that pleasure.”

It’s called Dinosaur Run, and it’s the most vicious, most twisted sport ever conceived. Attractive, athletic teenagers are snatched off the streets and transported 150 million years back in time—to the age of dinosaurs—allowing wealthy spectators to gamble on who’ll be the first to go, who’ll last longest, and who’ll be … eaten … by what.

But this time they’ve picked the wrong group of kids to mess with.

Don’t move a muscle … and never ever let ‘em hear you breathe! Read Dinosaur Run today!

Yes, I was aware of the AI narration, however it truly made it difficult to understand what the author intended to convey. Example: when the main characters in the book were meant to convey fear with “W-what?”, the narration pronounced the “w” as if it were reading the alphabet. It took away from the enjoyment of the story.

However, the story itself was appealing and I look forward to finding more from this author.

Great story, not so great AI

Terrific story! Great character development! Listen to the second book as well. Would love to see more of this story, sequels, etc.. PLEASE LOSE THE AI NARRATION!! listening to this AI narrator is like getting your nose. Hairs plucked out one by one.

Great story

so the story and characters are written alright, not great but fine for a young adult book. there are some real basic tropes that you get like the characters having plot armor but it wasn't super obvious in this story. i like the explanations that could have been big plot holes but were written out real well... then theres the narration. oh fuck i hope this doesn't catch on. that auto narrator was the worst thing. i hated every time it read lines for the characters or read a stutter. this was what ruined the story for me.

this was almost good

The story itself is pretty good, but the constant mispronunciation made it impossible to get through the story. The narration of the Torvosaurus encounter in chapter 10 was so choppy it made it incredibly difficult to actually understand what was going on in the scene.
The book itself is well written and gripping, with likable characters and a cool plot. However, the robotic narration mispronouncing everything really lessens the experience and makes it hard to get through the book

Good story, BAD AI Narration

I listened to the entire book, just to hear how poorly the virtual voice narrated. This format has a lot to learn about reading content, not just words. it got really stuck with word gestures ans simply read the physical letters and then tried to make a sound for the rest of the word. I'll not listen to another virtual voice read book, a good narration can make, answer in this case break a book.

virtual voice sucks!!
