How do you stop a God? Monty and Simon don’t know, but they better find out, and fast....

The NYTF Command Hub has been destroyed, the Director is in critical condition, and a cryptic message has been left for the Montague and Strong Detective Agency - in blood.....

When Monty and Simon discover Mahnes, a Soul Renderer and Dark Mage, is behind the attack, they realize they are outclassed, and outgunned. Something or someone is controlling Mahnes, and they need help. Now, Monty and Simon must face an ancient god, one they thought they had defeated, and banished. They were wrong.

As always, Mr Sanchez delivers again! I love the characters, the snark, the way he develops the environments and the magic, oh did I mention the snark? Thanks

I always enjoy the Montague and Strong books. It feels like forever since we’ve seen Michiko and the Dark Council. It makes narrative sense that they aren’t just shoe horned into the story but I miss seeing them. My only wish is that more of Orlando Sanchez’s books were on audible. They’re perfect for listening to while walking, etc.

Always fun

I like the series and the world building but it’s getting really frustrating how dumb he makes Strong. A chapter later after learning and discussing something, he had to have it reexplained to him. Neither Strong nor the readers should be this stupid. It’s either bad characterization or bad editing, not realising that they just went over this.

Small frustrations spoil an otherwise fun book
