Divorce the Rival of Marriage: Do not Hate the One Who Hurt You, is how I express myself on the matter of divorce through poetry. Divorce hurts to the very soul of the person being rejected by the one who vowed to love him/her until death do us part. Katalay left for Congo in November 2012 promising to come back soon. That is almost 7 years ago. It took me a year to write these poems. I wrote and stopped hoping not to publish them because I still suffered pain and anger. But God came through and I’m ready to publish them. There are various reasons people divorce. Some it is because they never love their spouses in the first place. Nowadays we find conditional marriages “I love you because of your money, your beauty, your status, your citizenship”. Even though couples do this it was not the plan of God when He created marriage. Scripture shows if clearly here in Matthew. Matthew 19:8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.Unfortunately this can be a secret in the man or woman’s heart. One finds a 54 year old man divorce his wife and marry a 20 year old woman “for love”. One finds a 45 year old woman marries a 30 year old young man “for love”. I’m not being critical here but it just shows that the Devil is at work. Marrying a younger man or woman does not alter the age of the older person. I think we need to differentiate between love and lust. Poetry Marriage Divorce Heartfelt
