Student nurse Julia Harvey is attracted to Craig Everett from the moment of their introduction at her sister's party, but when she discovers he is a senior heart surgeon at the same hospital, her hopes are dashed. Especially when she hears his nickname...Dr. Ice!

But when he is accused of being involved in a hit-and-run accident, Craig needs someone to confide in, and Julia is available. Their relationship seems to be deepening, yet Craig will never let the passion that flares between them reach its natural conclusion. Then, worse still, he suspects Julia of betraying his confidence, and suddenly she finds herself frozen out of his life.

First I have to say that the cover of this audiobook does not do the book justice. If it is just based on the cover I would have by-passed this book completely but the title attracted my attention. I decided to read the blurb to find out what it is all about and once I read it I was intrigued to find out more. I am so glad that I did!
I was hooked from the beginning and I could not stop listening to it until I got to the very end.
The author knows how to pull the tension between the two main characters and write a great cast of characters.
I got the impression this was set somewhere in the 1970 (I could be wrong since we are not told when it was set) which is different to other romance books that are either set in modern day, Victorian England or regency England so I found this refreshing. I wish there are more books like this out there.
If you like books that have a late 20th centry feel then this is for you.
I would highly recommend this book.
