The Battle for Earth has begun.

Victoria’s dreams of a cozy life as a small-town doctor come crashing down when the monstrous Kryptids make first contact. The alien invaders have only one goal: to turn Earth into a breeding ground. As she fights to protect her patients in their makeshift hospital, an even more fearsome alien and his beast enter the fray. She should be terrified of the male ominously named Doom. But she’s mesmerized.

As a genetically engineered war machine, Doom lives for a single purpose: eradicating the Kryptids. Coming to Earth with his brothers to save the humans should be a straightforward matter. But years of bloody battles throughout the galaxy have not prepared him for the fiery Victoria. Enchanted by the courage of that wisp of a woman, Doom offers her his protection and that of his fearless war beast, Stran, as she attempts to rescue other wounded humans. After disaster strikes their homeworld, the Xian Warriors now also face extinction.

Will the Kryptids finally defeat their only real threat, or will the delicate human that has stolen both of Doom’s hearts also be the Warriors’ seed of hope?

This had more tension and action than most sci-fi romance audiobooks that I have listened to. The story is really interesting and high-stakes it just feels like there isn't enough time to explore it thoroughly and quite frankly, not enough time left for the romance itself. I also prefer more spice. This novel only has two spicey scenes.
I still prefer when books use a male and female narrator but I think this narrator did a really good job. The different characters had distinct voices and I loved the effect they use for telepathic speech. It made this book especially fun to listen to.

Lot's of potential but a bit too short

Plot is interesting and voice acting is so effective! A captivating matchup. Bought the next two episodes before finishing the first.

Love the mind speaking effect!

Love this series

I just discovered Regine Abel and have already purchased extra credits to buy all of her available audiobooks. Now I’m re-listening to her series. I LOVE this book and all of them actually. Haven’t read a book by this author that I didn’t love. I went to her site and discovered there are more books in this series published but they’re not audiobooks yet. Normally I only “read” audiobooks because I can multitask, but I’m seriously thinking of taking the time to sit down and read her ebooks because I can’t wait for audiobooks to be made out of them.

Worth Repeating

There was great potential with this story which the author wasted by making it too short. Character development was minimal. The heroine saw Doom, the Xian Warrior for half a day, the next thing we know - she's ready to sign up for life. I mean I listen to enough Sci-fi books to not be surprised by the "alien" bonding for life at a glance.
Throughout the book, storylines advanced without notice. Years pass without a peep until the heroine mentions how much time has passed.
Disappointed with the lack of detail and the lack of originality in the conversations.
I enjoyed Christian Black's narration. This was my first time listening to him.

Too short to be special or unique
