I wouldn't have expected to like this one: Grover Gardner, though he's an outstanding narrator, is an American voice through and through, and this story is as British as they come. But Gardner's reading is one of the two or three best available on Audible. It's right up there, in my opinion, with my other favorites: the ones by Ian Holm and Scott Brick. He doesn't try to do a fake British accent (thank goodness). What he does instead is capture the emotional content of the story dead-on. I don't think there's a better reading anywhere of the line "For God's sake find me some of the old!"

Right up there with Ian Holm and Scott Brick
