An orphan girl and a dragon runt are the kingdom’s only hope…

Eva Thirsk is no dragon rider… She’s just a lonely orphan on an isolated farm. In her hopes of finding a new life for herself—and maybe learning more about her past—Eva enlists in the army. But when she’s put to work, she finds herself relegated to the lowest of jobs—cleaning the dragon stables.

Too small for combat, Perrell is a lowly pack dragon who dreams of flying into battle. But like Eva, she refuses to accept her fate. She senses a spark of courage in the young orphan… the same spark that burns in her own heart. Together, they will form a friendship. But when the warlock Malcolm Venistrare escapes his magical prison, everything changes.

Now, Eva finds herself imbued with strange new magical abilities. With that magic, she’s capable of bonding with a dragon, making her and Perrell the dragon-riding team they’d always dreamed of being. But the magic holds a dark side. There are deep mysteries surrounding the power she now holds, the forces she’s capable of wielding… and the family line she secretly carries.

As Venistrare joins with Destia’s enemies and escalates the war, the whole nation is at risk. Will Destia support Eva as she battles against the warlock—or will they turn against her once the truth is revealed?

This is a delightful adventure fantasy series based on dragons and their magic endued riders. I have read the entire series of the Kindle box set, and I thoroughly enjoyed the many adventures and growth of the main characters. The creative vocalization and narration of the audiobook only heightened my enjoyment. This fantasy series kept my interest from the first page of Book 1 to the final page of Book 6. I highly recommend, not just Books 1-3, but the entire 6 book collection for those who enjoy fantasy tales of dragons and the fight against good and evil.

Entertaining and Imaginative

I absolutely loved the story but found it difficult to listen to. The way the narrator says the main characters name drives me crazy by elongated A's at the end of Avas name. She almost sounds like A. I. it's nerve wracking. Ava Richardson is one of my favorite authors but almost didn't finish this series

Great Story but narrator is horrible

book 1: Eva dreamed of being a dragon rider while Perrell wants to be more then a pack dragon so when the two form a bond they try to prove they are more.
book 2: Eva and Pernell are trying to prove that they belong at the school. As things come to light Eva more then ever wants to just to feel like she isn't a "imposter".
book 3: Eva's "break" get's cut short when the prince shows up with a mission for her. She still has to hide her powers.
